Make your business mobile

New technology can mobilize your business and employees

Now, more than ever, businesses need to be flexible to keep competitive. You need to be able to keep in touch at all times, no matter where you are, because a missed call could mean lost business.

Modern technology means that there are a variety of ways in which you can be contacted when you are away from the office.

Business Mobile Phones

Most people who are running a business will have their own business mobile phone. It may be that you also supply your employees with their own phones too.

However, it is important to ensure that the handsets you have are capable of doing what you need them to do.

Making and receiving calls can be affected by the network you choose to have your contract with. You do not want to choose a network where the coverage for your local area, or the area where you do business, is poor.

If you need email and internet on the move do your phones have large enough screens? a dedicated keyboard? And does the tariff you are on give you an inclusive data allowance?

If email and internet via your mobile phone (rather than via a laptop or netbook) is required then you should consider one of the latest generation of SmartPhones or a BlackBerry. These can be supplied for free on many of our business mobile phone packages.

Mobile Internet

For fully-functioning internet and email on the move you will need to empower your laptop with mobile internet. By plugging a USB modem stick into your laptop USB port you can have access to broadband speeds via the mobile 3G network.

Using a laptop means you have a full screen, full keyboard, and increased memory capacity for storing files and presentations. If you leave the office without an important document it can be emailed to you before you arrive at your clients.

Internet Telephony

Rather than a traditional line based telephone system many businesses are now adopting IP phone systems using the internet to route their calls via VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol).

As well as the cost savings that can be made, this type of IP phone system can also be much more flexible, allowing people to work from home whilst looking like they are office-based.
