Nokia unveil new slimline mobile phone handsets
The recent Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas saw the unveiling of the new Nokia slimline handsets.
Motorola, Sony Ericsson and Samsung have all seen their popularity increase thanks to the popularity of their slimline models, with Sony Ericsson knocking Nokia off the number 1 slot in the UK.
At the top of the range is the Nokia N76 flip-phone, which has external keys which control its music features and has the ability to store up to 1500 tracks.
The N76 is 13.7mm thick and is expected to be released in the UK sometime in the first quarter of this year.
Also scheduled to be released in the first quarter is the remodelled N93i which is 3mm slimmer than the original N93 and doubles up as a video camera.
In a recent press release, a Nokia spokesman said: "Video can become a similar kind of mass-market phenomenon as mobile photography. The N93i is the ideal device for user-created video content because it is a connected digital camcorder. You can upload video to the web without altering the original size of the content."
Other models include the N73i, which includes high quality video-capture, a 3.2 megapixel camera and a swivel screen and the N800 which is faster than its forerunner, the N770, and includes a full touch-screen and a built-in camera.
