Mobile phone technology
Did you know that South Korea is probably the most technologically advanced country in the world? For years the government there has poured many millions of pounds into its technology industries. It has built a super fast broadband infrastructure leading to 75% of its population having broadband. It is now leading the way in technological advances both in the internet and mobile phones. Take a look at what is happening there now and you can see into the future for mobile phones in this country. Have you ever used your mobile to access the internet? Slow isn't it, even with the latest handset. Korea already has a network giving speed three or four times that of regular 3G. And it is not stopping there. A new network is being rolled out that is fast enough for you to watch streaming video on your phone in the same way as you might on your laptop or home computer. In the future a 4G network is envisaged providing faster speeds enabling you to simultaneously watch TV, make a call and surf the net on your phone! To keep up with these advancements there are a new generation of handsets being released. These include 10 megapixel camera phones, phones including their own mixing decks, and storage up to 8GB (enough for 2000 songs!). With the power of the new networks it is possible to watch TV on your phone. New phones in Korea come with amazing high resolution screens for exactly that. All of these developments will inevitably arrive in the UK in future years.
